NY Fashion Week Favorites
This week Bryant Park has once again been transformed into a world of fantasy and illusion celebrating next fall’s newest fashions and the designers that bring them to life. Here are some favorite pieces we reveled in from alongside the runway.
Akiko Ogawa
The salon filling with the sound of bag pipes, the show started with cropped wool jackets and tall black boots as big floppy bows peaked out from underneath velvet collars. Occasional tartans and rich fur hats made us feel as if we were on the streets of Scotland.
Charlotte Ronson
With sister Samantha playing as DJ in the Altman building, Charlotte’s no fuss collection was ushered in by a mix of Bob Dylan classics with a touch of Asian fusion. Soon a plethora of models started to walk the runway showcasing beaded headbands, pretty plaid dresses, and glittery tiered skirts. It was clear that for Charlotte Ronson, next fall is all about the 90’s.
Cynthia Rowley
Gathered in the elegant Gotham Hall, as the lights dimmed and tinkling music started to play, a large canvas fell with a thud revealing a pop up forest reminiscent of childhood fairy tales. Soon delicate models came through the branches to showcase buttery silks and crinkly taffetas. Paired with delicate trenches and cropped leather jackets, the collection bespoke of girlish innocence and soft femininity.
Oh, how we love New York Fashion Week!
